COMMUNE, composed and directed by The Omega Point, has been devised collaboratively between musicians, dancers, artists and designers.
As musicians / artists The Omega Point contemplate how to capture the traces of humanity within an accelerating technological culture, in particular our unique ability to seek meaning and purpose through myth creation, ritual, song and dance.
Described as the makers of 'a wild brand of apocalyptic art music' by Stuart Buchanan, Digital Curator of The Sydney Opera House, The Omega Point is a Melbourne/ Narrm based music and multimedia project, conceived by Alexandra Clouston. In COMMUNE The Omega Point is joined by multi-instrumentalist and Mariachi Alejandro Espino Aldana and percussionist Alexander Meagher.
We acknowledge that this performance of COMMUNE will takes place on the Traditional lands of the wurundjeri people of the kulin nation. We acknowledge the First Peoples of Australia as the first artists, the first storytellers, the first communities and the first creators of culture.
We acknowledge that Australia and the world is facing an unprecedented climate emergency.
